The Flower Pots Inn Beer Festival, Cheriton, Hampshire

A bit late to post, as today is the last day of the beer festival, but we walked 13.5km/8.3 miles from Alresford to The Flower Pots Beer Festival in Cheriton and back on Friday.

Due to overgrown tracks, narrow footpaths, and fallen trees I cannot recommend the routes we walked (see below), but instead recommend walking down Appledown Lane and follow Badshear Lane to a footpath at North End avoiding walking along the main road into Cheriton along the pictured route. We walked out via the Cheriton (English Civil War) Battlefields but the long grass on the paths was hard going, and the final section into Cheriton was a narrow gully, tipping the off road buggy precariously into the brambles and nettles in the hedge.

We returned along Hinton Lane, which would have been a far easier route had it not been for a fallen tree blocking the track just north of the junction with Prite Lane. Thankfully we had managed to talk our 17 year old daughter into coming with us, and three of us managed to lift her 20 year old sister in her off-road buggy over the splayed tree branches. I am trying to report this to Hampshire Countryside Service
